Frequently Asked Questions

If you cannot find an answer to your question, talk to Tammy Vanroon our Business Manager at (705) 461-3197

There are many ways to donate to our shelter! You can donate online through e-transfer to society4animals@gmail.com  Mail a check to our address, or drop off supplies in person at the Sunshine Shop. We are always in need of food, toys, blankets, and other supplies. All cash donations over $20 are provided a tax receipt.

We recommend that you spend time with an animal before adopting to make sure they are a good fit for your family. We also offer meet and greets with other family pets to make sure everyone gets along. Our adoption counselors will work with you to find the best match for your family.

Bordetella (also referred to as tracheobronchitis, canine cough in dogs and feline bordetellosis in cats) is a highly contagious respiratory disease caused by the bacteria Bordetella bronchiseptica. It causes inflamation of the trachea and bronchi. Should your pet contract the disease it costs hundreds of dollars in vet bills not to mention the distress to your pet and possibility of death. As we have many different dogs and cats in our facility we are keeping to health regulations for Animal Shelters.
